The wings and potato wedges are amazing! Super nice and the service is great. They answered all my questions and recommended other options too. Not bad place over all for being a convenience store. 10 out of 10 what do you change thing?
If you like chick fil a, or fried chicken in general, RUN to this place!!! Hole in the wall gas station hides a frymaster, that gets it right every time. Daily specials, it's always hot and delicious. Crispy breading, tender chicken. I went on a lark a few weeks ago, it's now a weekly visit... Oh, and back to the comparison to that national franchise... For the same $9 (roughly) cost, this place delivers 12 of these bad boys....3 of J&J nuggets are equivalent to the 12 count at the chain place...
Service was extremely fast, ordered a 6-piece wing dinner, and we were out of there in under 2 minutes! With the wings and wedge potato fries all precooked, I didn't have high hopes. But this busy corner market has the volume to keep the food flowing. The wings were plump and nicely seasoned and the wedge potatoes were blistering hot. We tried their ranch and honey mustard, with the HM being the favorite and one of the best in town. We also grabbed a 2 pack of baklava, which was good but not great, although the pieces were massive. Overall a great experience and it's easy to see why this place scores so well on Yelp.
Honestly, probably the best fried chicken in all of North Carolina! No, seriously, you have to try it. JJ's chicken is always made fresh to order, and it always delivers. You guys, I literally crave this chicken. Service is always quick and friendly. Their staff are fantastic and are open to giving recommendations. There may be a bit of a wait because they make it fresh, but that gives you time to peruse their drink section or also try out some of the fantastic desserts that their owners wife makes! I wish JJ's had indoor seating, but I appreciate it for what it is. You'll definitely need to take it to go, or you can eat it in the parking lot. Either way, you're in for a wonderful time highly recommend this place, if you haven't tried it before!!

Tried a few different offerings today and everything was amazing. Perfectly seasoned and deliciously crispy! The wings are always a favorite! The best in Winston! The white meat nuggets were beautifully fried and bursting with juice. There were so many pieces of shrimp in the sandwich that each bite will be guaranteed with a full piece that act as individual flavor bombs. The fried pork belly sandwich was a delight! At first glance, they seemed to be a bit dry, but much like the store itself, don't let its appearance fool you! The meat is very tender and bursting with juice!
Since I am new to the Triad I have been looking for some really good convenience store fried chicken and Taylor wedges. I was convinced that there was none here, but then I found out about j&j food. Amazing thing is it's right in my neighborhood. The first time I went I got the nuggets, and tater wedges and they were just insanely good. The guy cooking the food was really nice and we talked about his food. The next time I went ahead to try the wings and they were also really cool. This place was like a traditional convenience store, that smelled of fried chicken. I only heard about it 2 weeks ago and I've already been three times and will definitely be back soon.

Finally got to try this place today during my lunch hour. It's not the best space, a tad bit cramped because it is an old corner store I guess. However their fried chicken is absolutely delicious! I got a chicken breast along with potato wedges that had just came out the fryer. You'd think someone's grandma was back there frying that chicken, but it was actually a man! My chicken had a good amount of skin on it just the way I like it, very good and seasoned just right. I'm already thinking about going back tomorrow!
